ContradictThis Fall, we will begin the tenth consecutive year of our Apologetics ministry; a ministry that started for high school students only.  Traditional high school youth programs tend to overemphasize events and fun and sprinkle a devotional thought into the mix, like a cherry on top of an ice cream sundae.  The result of such an approach is an ill-prepared generation to process the onslaught against faith and biblical Christianity on secular college and university campuses, which in turn explains the alarming exodus of our 'twenty-somethings' from church life altogether.

We have studied materials from Ken Ham, Josh McDowell, Lee Strobel, Ravi Zacharias, Focus on the Family (The Truth Project, TrueU), and many more notable apologists.  The blessing of this ministry is that here at Washington Valley Chapel, we have begun to retain the next generation beyond their college years, incorporating them into church life and service, and witnessing a new generation of disciples committed to Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.

With time, we extended the Apologetics ministry to include college students.  In the past three years, we took the ministry to the whole family, making it multi-generational in its scope.  Among the benefits of this approach are:  1. The ability to debrief as a family, 2. Disciples who are ready to give an answer for the hope that is in them, and 3. A greater awareness of being part of the Body of Christ.
